2008 Wine Auction Album


1. Over 400 generous guests, volunteers, and Senior Center supporters were on hand despite
97-degree weather at Mann Biomedical Park to raise money for the Home-Delivered Meals
Program on Sept. 27. The theme of the event was “Flavors of Life".



2. Wine and Cheese were served before the sumptuous buffet
by Michael Schreiner of Be A Guest at Your Own Party catering.



3. Executive Director Brad Berens and Foundation Development
Officer Kathy Crone, at right, welcomed all to the event.

4. Senior of the Year Mary Gallant was on hand and
hard at work selling raffle tickets and snapping photos.



5. The Tony Capko Jazz Quartet entertained to the delight of all guests!



6. Mayor Emeritus JoAnne Darcy was honored for her long service
to the community, to the Center, and as co-founder of the event along
with Chef Juan Alsonso, center. City Council members lauded Darcy.

7. Ms. Darcy also received commendation from Los Angeles
County, presented by Bob Hauerter, Senior Deputy for 5th
District Supervisor Michael Antonovich. She is seen here with
her escort Don Robinson and SCV Foundation President
Duane Harte. She and her entourage arrived in a horse-drawn
white carriage!

8. Surprise final auction item: a fly-in and demo by the
LA County SWAT Team! This day of excitement with
SWAT sold for $2600!
